January rewind!

Our big project in January was to redo our sunroom.  The sunroom was an add-on room that the previous owners had put on the back of the house & we LOVE the sunroom, but it was tired and boring with the cream colored walls and plaid red and green on the valances.

So - we went BOLD with a beautiful lime green color for the walls!  Amie loved helping paint!

And a dark chocolate fabric for the valances.

Next up was getting rid of the super ugly green carpet.  Unfortunately, we learned that it was GLUED to the sub-flooring!  YUK!!

What a mess it was!!

After getting as much of the glue and padding up, we covered it with a paper.  That was a favorite "toy" for the days it was down before putting the laminate down.

Putting the laminate down was more difficult than we thought - the room is not very square nor is it very flat.

We do LOVE the way the room turned out, but the laminate left a lot to be desired.  We have decided that we will put hardwood down when we are done with the rest of the downstairs.

Other January fun was Amie with her absolute MUST HAVE Christmas request.  She wanted to zombie lab.  So Darwin helped her make a pus sore and some brain goo.  :p

She was definitely not as impressed as she thought she would be!

And on January 7th, she celebrated her "Gotcha Day" Anniversary!!  Happy Gotcha Day Miss Amie!!

We also had a nice little ice and wind storm that destroyed the trampoline.  But since she was under doctors restrictions to not be jumping and running - it wasn't anything that was too heartbreaking.

Amie also tried to teach Grandma how to play the lego game on the x-box!  Too Funny!
