April rewind

April was a month of continued kitchen remodel, but also some fun times too.

Kylee and Amie decided that one of the cupboard boxes was big enough for us to mail them to Hawaii, they packed only a beach toy!  LOL.

Having some fun at Toys R Us

Every time Amie has a doctors appointment, we have to stop in the gift shop and buy a stuffed animal....we have at least 200 now!  I think it is time to donate them to a kids program!

She also had her yearly eye exam in April & her prescription only changed a bit!  Here she is with her big dilated eyes!

We had a "girls" trip to Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells for a few days during spring break.  Even though she was under doctors orders to not run or get her heart racing, we decided that with only a few weeks left until her surgery & with a Mom that has medical training & an Aunt that is a Registered Nurse (and a very over-protected cousin) - that we were going to let her be a kid for this trip!!

Amie and Kylee both attempted the rock wall (two different times) & they both seemed to really enjoy it.

We also did a little pottery.  It was a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, because we were only there for a few days, we had to have the pottery mailed to us.

Kylee made a cheerleader, Janet made a Christmas "Peace" sign.  I made a picture frame that will match my new color pallet (Ohana means family in Hawaiian) & Amie made another mermaid!  She has 3 painted mermaids now & two castles!

Other fun included tatoos, games and of course water!

We definitely saw some limitations with her energy, but overall she did pretty darn good.

And of course a trip to Wisconsin Dells is never complete without a trip to Buffalo Phils!

As we were leaving the area, Amie points at this statue and said, "Him looks like my Daddy"!  LOL - let's see, Daddy is not 20 foot tall, he does not wear a cowboy hat or holster, he does not wear a sherrifs badge or carry a gun and he is slightly rounder in his build.  Oh - well he does have a mustache!  It's funny to try to figure out where she comes up with some of the things she comes up with!

Easter in the middle of a construction zone!  But still a good time for Missy Miss!

The middle of April was Aunt Janet's birthday!  I think that Kylee went a little overboard on the number of candles!!  Bawahahahahahha!

I was working on a shopping list & Amie told me I needed to add blueberries to the list.  I told her she needed to write it down herself.  She asked how to spell it, but that is all her writing!

Guess who wanted us to bid on a 4 wheeler at the school auction?  The answer was Ummmm NO!  (And of course Amie did her goofy cross eyed look!)

A drawing from school of Amie and I holding hands and smiling!  :)

The last weekend before Amie's surgery, we went to a kids museum in the Quad Cities.  Tim and Kylee went with us.

Interestingly, there is an old ultrasound unit there for hands on fun......but it has an endocavity transducer!!  I think whoever donated it had a sick sense of humor - luckily no one knows where that transducer has been before & I'm sure it is clean, but it was just such a weird thing to see for a sonographer!

WOW!!  I have probably owned everything in that display case of "old" stuff!!

I can't remember if that was an M&M or a grape, or what it was - but EWWWWW!  Uncle Darwin dumped it in Kylee's cheese dip & Kylee ate it!!!

Just a sweet picture of Daddy, Grandma & Miss Amie!

On one of the last days Amie went to school before her surgery, she had a royal fit that I wasn't doing her hair right.  She wanted a "ball" on top of her head!  This was redone 6 times before she liked it!  And as you can see by the smile - she REALLY liked it!!  Oh the joys of a stubborn little girl!!
