Kylee turned how old??

Hard to believe that Kylee turned 12 this last September!!  I love telling her the story of me getting a speeding ticket the day she was born because I was supposed to be on call at Gibson that evening & she took "her time" making her entrance - so I had to speed back to the Gibson area to be on call!!

She chose a cake with fondant frosting....Looks GORGEOUS!

Amie was super excited to meet her when she got back to the house for her party!

♥♪♫♪♪♫♫♪♪♫♫♪♥
Happy Birthday Dear Kylee!

I missed the look she gave when she tried the fondant....let's just say after one bite, she gave the rest to Amie (who had no problem gobbling it up!!)

I love this picture!!  I love when the girls laugh so completely that it radiates their entire body!

Time to open presents!

Aunt T & Uncle Andy did the silly present thing again!

Time to play with the tissue paper!

"Kylee come outside - Amie wants to show you something!"

Time to get her hands on it!

Ut Oh!!  A little competition on wrestling the can away!

Popeye with silly string!

Backtrack & Catch up - Amie's room!

This summer, while we were in Tennessee, there was a very loud, obnoxious fire alarm that went off at the condo while Amie was napping.  It really scared and spooked her.  She immediately did not want to sleep by herself or go into any bedroom alone.

So - as we were talking to her, she said she didn't like her blue room.  So.....we asked her what she'd like her room color to be.  She said she wanted a pink room.  We initially intended to just re-paint her room.  So we moved her into the spare room & then we decided to actually gut the room & re-insulate because of how cold the two front bedrooms are.

When we decided to do that we asked Amie which of the two rooms she'd rather have.  She chose the spare room, so we started gutting that room!  And Darwin decided to make her a castle bed!!

Here is her "blue" room!  I had sponge painted it twice before she moved into it - and Tiara made the curtains (and a very comfy quilt blanket!)  Prior to the fire alarm - she loved her room!

Here was the original sponge painting - I left the closet ceiling with it, because I loved it - but no one else liked the multiple colors...

We initially moved her into the spare room, but that only lasted for about an hour before we then decided to move her back to the blue room & renovate the spare room instead!

Amie LOVED helping out!

Amie was helping Christopher make holes!

These holes were all Amie's doing!!

We learned that the walls & attic only had an R value of 7!!!!  14 is recommended for walls & 30 for ceilings!!

Amie loved loved loved helping with the renovations!

Amie insisted on wearing her dress shoes while she swept!  Too Cute!!

I wonder how many pictures I have total with Darwin sticking his tongue out??

Sweating and messes abound!

Primer finished

Darwin started working on the bed - he let Amie draw her designs on the scrap boards!

Parts are cut!

Assembly has begun!  The future book shelves make a great hidey hole!

Some assembly required.....

Now the detail work starts!

And then Darwin decided to go to the next level of detail.  He decided to build little bricks for the decoration instead of painting them!!  They really made a HUGE difference in the design!!

And he made a little "bed" for Boochie  Boochie!

Amie picked purple for the castle!

The room now has pink & the trim boards are up around the windows!

Painting almost complete!  Darwin made the decorations gray & even painted a draw bridge and grass around the bottom!

Grandma Miller made a little mattress and pillow for Boochie Boochie!

We picked a neutral Berber carpet.

Princess light switch covers.

A magic wand for the curtain rod.

Aunt T made the new curtains for this room too!

Time to check out her new bed in her new room!

And we found a little wooden castle to compliment the room!

I adore this picture!!!

Time for a little cousin sleep over!

Tonight the castle is a bunk bed (at other times it's a play land under the upper bunk)

Build in for the closet.

Boochie Boochie is ready for bed too!

View from the top!

Aunt T and Uncle Andy found just the perfect addition to the castle bed!

A friend was selling a little make-up table & I think it works perfect in the room!!  Amie LOVES putting make up on!

It took us about two months to do Amie's room, but it was well worth it!
